How to Find Us – Aintree
Aintree Circuit is 5 miles North of Liverpool within the Grand National Racecourse. Approach by A59 south of its junction with the M57/M58 motorways then East along Aintree Lane (B5194), turning right after 0.75 mile over the bridge into Melling Road. Just follow the brown direction signs for Aintree Golf Centre.
Due to substantial speed humps on Melling Road, we recommend approaching the Circuit via B5194 Aintree Lane and Blue Anchor Bridge if you have a vehicle with low ground clearance.
The Circuit doesn’t have its own postcode, the closest is L10 8LF. Follow the brown signs for Aintree Golf Centre.
For a satnav, input Melling Road Aintree as the destination address, or search for Aintree Golf Centre.
Don’t try going to “Aintree Racecourse” which is well over a mile away from today’s circuit!
The “What 3 Words” location for the circuit entrance on event days is: ///horses.flown.pipes

The venue isn’t well served by public transport. The nearest railway stations are Old Roan, Aintree or Fazakerley. It’s a 20-25 mins walk from each station to the Circuit entrance on Melling Road. There are bus services to/from each station, but no buses pass the venue entrance. See Merseytravel for the public transport map and timetables. See also Trainline for rail timetables and tickets.
Overnight Camping
Competitors are welcome to camp/park overnight on Friday evening before an event, but we are limited to just 10 motorhomes/campervans and they must have internal facilities. Overnight camping must be pre-booked with the entries secretary. Tents are not permitted.
Please see our Accommodation near Aintree page for details of other local sites that accept motorhomes.
The venue gates are locked promptly at 9:15 pm on Friday evening with no vehicular or pedestrian exit or entry until 6:30 am on Saturday morning. We recommend being on site by 9 pm if you intend camping/parking a vehicle overnight. We regret there are no facilities for competitors to camp overnight on Saturday evening after an event.
